The modern Berges du Rhône (Banks of the Rhône) refer to a series of parks, quays, streets and walking paths along the Rhône river in Lyon. It was built to create space for recreation and relaxation with paths for cycling and walking along the Rhone. The space was gained by eliminating parking lots. The project also addressed flood protection issues.
